YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT

We are looking for young people in years 7 – 11 to join our Youth Advisory Board and help us understand the issues affecting them and their communities.

Raised hands floating in clouds.

Who are we?

We are currently recruiting young people to join our Youth Advisory Board (YAB). As part of YAB, you will guide our development work and future focus areas. You will also play a key role in our impact evaluation process and represent the voice of local young people. Sound fun?

We are Life Skills Education, a registered charity based in Nottingham. We work with young people to help them understand the risks and potential consequences of their actions related to drugs, alcohol, knife crime, and hate crime. Your input will shape our next steps.

Do you want to help guide the future direction of prevention education that young people in your community receive?  Then join our Youth Advisory Board and help us understand the risks facing young people today.

We want to hear from you!

We are forming the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) so young people can support, challenge, and inform our work in schools, clubs, and community groups nationwide. The YAB will explore urgent issues affecting young people and guide our charity’s development. Essentially, you will be the voice of young people within our organization.

We are recruiting young people in years 7-11 for a three-year term. As a member of the first youth board, you will directly influence its development and direction. You will also sign off on the group’s terms of reference, giving you a say in the work you undertake.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge, new skills, and experiences valuable for future university applications and employers. YAB members will play a crucial role in implementing our Impact Evaluation Strategy, gathering views and opinions from other young people about our work, and helping us focus on new and emerging threats.

Successful candidates will receive a £25 Amazon voucher!

Applications can be submitted below. We’ve made the process simple and accessible for everyone. We appreciate it if teachers and parents/guardians encourage young people to apply and support them through the application process.

Submit your application as soon as you decide you’d like to be considered for our YAB. We’ll be in touch within a month to arrange next steps which might include an online interview. If successful we’ll invite you to our next meeting. For questions about the role, email chloe@lifeskillseducation.co.uk.
