Life Skills Primary

Years 5 or 6

This programme equips young people with the knowledge and skills they need to transition from primary to secondary school. It helps them develop the social and emotional skills required to overcome challenges associated with transition. Moreover, it fosters a sense of responsibility and accountability, with children taking ownership of their actions to understand how those actions influence their lives and the world around them. Scenarios include topics around substance misuse (including alcohol, tobacco, vaping and cannabis), hate and knife crime.

10 Weeks (1 Hour Per Week) Plus a graduation.

The Decision Maker

Years 1 to 6

The Decision Maker helps young people make safe and healthy decisions. It is the result of extensive consultation with teachers, schools, and our Youth Advisory Board. We’ve listened to the needs of educators and young people to create a relevant and impactful resource. It was designed to help reduce the impact of poor decisions by young people on teachers and senior leadership by addressing common issues that can escalate all too quickly. 100% of the scenarios developed are based on experiences of teachers and young people who have dealt with the consequences of those poor decisions.

18 Seperate scenarios per year group, teachers can integrate Decision Maker into PSHE lessons, form time, assemblies, or any moment that matters.

The Parent Hub

Coming Soon!

We are currently developing a set of online resources for parents that will complement the work that you do in class. Each of our programmes will be accompanied by easily accessible materials for you to distribute that will help parents/carers engage with their children in a positive and informed way about the Life Skills work they are doing. The resources will be a great way to boost parent/school engagement.

Our Approach

By encouraging children to consider decision-making in the context of risky behaviours from a young age, we can familiarise them with the tools that help them navigate those decisions. Our Year 6 programme has been proven effective in improving children’s knowledge, skills, and confidence. Our early years materials lay the groundwork for a journey towards that programme, ultimately improving outcomes in the longer term.
