The Vulnerability of Children Online

The digital world offers incredible opportunities but also poses a significant risk of presenting online harms for children. Social media, especially on mobile devices, presents unique challenges to their safety and well-being.

How does it work?

The Life Skills Education Web Warriors programme follows the same proven format as our Life Skills Primary programmes.

Students meet Michael, who faces a problem. Through animated videos, they see how easily he gets drawn into a risky online situation. Using the worksheet, discussions, and interactive activities, students learn to manage such situations themselves.

Young people use our SKILL DECISION-MAKING MODEL to consider pressure, peer pressure, risks, and consequences and other online harms. They also discuss the law related to online activity.

Bullying is Bullying
In Person or Online

Cyberbullying occurs on digital devices like mobile phones, computers, and tablets. It can happen through text messages, apps, social media, forums, or gaming platforms where people can view, participate in, or share content. Additionally, some adults use the internet to groom young people for sexual gratification, gang involvement, and other risky behaviours.

Learning to navigate the internet safely is crucial for young people’s development. By participating in this online harms module and becoming a ‘Web Warrior,’ they will remain confident and safe online.
